Blessings of Justice and Love to All You Beautiful Luminous Beings!
Summer 2024 is officially here and Junuary continues to offer us cooler temperatures and rain. The planet continues to spin, and we breathe in… and out again and again. This week we experienced a bend towards justice in our world as we witnessed the release of Julian Assange. This man had spent the last 14 years of his life imprisoned for leaking revelatory documents about violence and corruption. I rarely watch or get caught up in the news, but Julian’s story brought me to tears. The above photo is the first hug that he received as a free man in his home country of Australia, as he joyfully embraced his wife, Stella. The emotion of this moment of release, freedom, and heart connection is palpable even through the lens of a camera. Notice how Julian’s lawyer, Jennifer Robinson, is holding her hand to her heart. Wow!!
There are many layers to the hero’s journey that is uniquely Julian’s. I am reminded of the energy and story of Nelson Mandela. These two men have both survived unjust and inhumane imprisonment for great lengths of time. These two men were set free to bring about huge shifts in our world. I am curious as to how Julian will integrate and express this deep and life altering experience as he re-enters the world. I pray that he is given healing time, space, and infinite grace as he reunites with his family. There are so many heart threads in his story. The dance of shadow and light is on the world stage and the spotlight is streaming into the cracks and crevices. The truth is being exposed and justice is reigning down.
“But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!”
Amos 5:24
I am currently studying the Tarot and it is fascinating to see its many layers and nuances. The Justice card in the Tarot resonates with Julian’s story. The figure of Justice sits in front of a loosely hung purple veil, signifying compassion. The two pillars on either side of her symbolize balance, law and structure. The Justice card is about truth. Truth must come to pass. It is time to learn the truth about others and us. It is time to speak and know the truth before passing judgement. The Justice card represents a standard for humane and fair-minded treatment of all human beings.
Lady Justice is wearing a red cloak that symbolizes power and influence. The crown on her head is emblematic of authority, reminding us that justice shall always prevail, even within the legal system. She is holding the scales to balance competing needs against the greater good, and a two-edged sword to symbolize the precision needed to make clear judgments. Justice requires a deep dive into murky waters as we consider what truth means. We are instructed to be cautious of what we believe to be true, as well as what we believe to be just and moral. Justice will require us to stretch ourselves as we discover new aspects of our world views. We are living at a time when Lady Justice is fully present and at the centre of the stage.
The song for this Wild Wondering is “I Shall Be Released” written by Bob Dylan. The lyrics are a shout out for justice.
They say everything can be replaced
They say every distance is not near
So I remember every face
Of every man who put me here
I see my light come shinin'
From the west down to the east
Any day now, any day now
I shall be released
They say every man needs protection
They say that every man must fall
Yet I swear I see my reflection
Somewhere so high above this wall
I see my light come shinin'
From the west down to the east
Any day now, any day now
I shall be released
Now, yonder stands a man in this lonely crowd
A man who swears he's not to blame
All day long I hear him shouting so loud
Just crying out that he's been framed
I see my light come shinin'
From the west down to the east
Any day now, any day now
I shall be released
Our lights are shining! May justice reign and love prevail.
Blessed Be.
With Never Ending Trust,
Jacqueline
